International Girls in ICT

International Girls in ICT Day is celebrated every year on the fourth Thursday of April and will be observed on 26 April 2018.

This year the commemoration will be held at Hillcrest National Technical High School in Livingstone. The commemoration will last two days starting 26th April ending on the 27th of April 2018.

Organisers should feel free to create their own program for their event and can also look at past Girls in ICT Day events​ to get inspiration. The ITU Secretary General invites ITU Member States, Sector Members, Associates and Academia to organize events attracting as many girls and young women as possible. Ministries of ICT, Education, Labour, Youth, National ICT Regulatory Authorities, ICT companies, academic institutions, relevant UN agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders are all encouraged to join the global effort and ​​celebrate International Girls in ICT Day. ​​

New Head of Google AI




Google has a new Head of artificial Intelligence who will lead the team. As you may know google has made the use of artificial Intelligence at its max point including the image searching. You can search something using an image and get the results just like that wow!. The new AI boss at Google is Jeff Dean.

The lean 50-year-old computer scientist joined the company in 1999, when it was a startup less than one year old. His efforts to make google a better company obvious earned him his current position now. He is know for his great coding skills. Google colleagues once created a joke website of him Jeff Dean facts and other jokes such as including his purported role in accelerating the speed of light. Another had it that Dean doesn’t really exist—he’s an advanced AI created by Jeff Dean.

The new boss has a good reputation to boast about as he has played an important role when it comes to googles growth in terms of databases and large-scale data analysis at Google . Dean helped ignite Silicon Valley’s AI boom when he joined Google’s secretive X lab in 2011 to investigate an approach to machine learning known as deep neural networks.

1. You’re abusing your power as a global monopoly. Why shouldn’t we break you up? Zuckerberg made the rookie error of leaving out his notes, which an AP reporter promptly snapped. One section said: “Break up FB? US tech companies key asset for America; break up strengthens Chinese companies.” Really? That’s the best you’ve got? The senators need to drive this one home hard.
2. You keep talking about Aleksandr Kogan, who harvested data for Cambridge Analytica. What about his business partner Joseph Chancellor, a Facebook employee? You haven’t mentioned Chancellor. Why? He went to work for you before the story first broke in December 2015. Does his involvement not concern you? Who knew what and when?
